The second book begins with Tess traveling to the Isolationist camp.
A lot of the book is taken up by flashbacks and how Tess feels. Depending on how flashbacks are done, I enjoy them. These were functionally fine, but I was annoyed by the subject matter.
The world building was good on the physical things, but the people and emotional side of things were a bit sketchy.
I didn't like Tess' judgemental attitude toward Sharon - the only other female that can reproduce. Judge not, Tess!
