 I received this book by participating in a blog tour set up by Tribute Books.

Ronnie promised herself to Shawn at age fourteen.  He moved for a bit, but he's back now and she's thrilled.  Only...he's changed.  He's moody and is becoming physically abusive.  Ronnie feels that if she's just more understanding, just more something, that Shawn will return to being the guy she fell in love with.

To add to her dilemma, her best friend, Luke, has confessed that he's in love with Ronnie.  Luke's the guy that watches chick flicks with her and listens to all her problems.  Now he's playing Romeo opposite her Juliet in the school play. 

Ms. Perry did a great job of showing that abusive relationships happen to all sorts of people, at all ages.  Ronnie's a great character - she's smart, funny and loving.  Yes, she frustrated me by giving her abuser more chances and even making excuses for him.  But since I've dealt with similar situations with friends, I wasn't surprised by any of it.

This is a great story for any teen (girl or boy) that's old enough to even consider dating!
